Daisy Jane Curtis

Daisy J. Curtis, 94, of St. Joseph, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Royalton Manor. A Celebration of Life Memorial Graveside Service will take place on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 2 PM at Spring Run Cemetery in St. Joseph. Memorial contributions in Daisy’s name may be made to The Ronald McDonald House of Western Michigan, 1323 Cedar Street NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Daisy was born on July 31, 1924, in St. Joseph to Fred & Anna (Trinka) Wagner. At an early age, Daisy learned the value of hard work. She would help her family tend to their family farm. This knowledge of hard work and farming would continue to play a major role in her life. On March 9, 1946, Daisy married the love of her life, Leslie Curtis. The two were happily married for almost 57 years before his passing in 2003. Daisy enjoyed staying home to help raise their family while continuing to tend to their farm and garden. However, most important to her was her family. Daisy took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an incredible woman who never knew a stranger and will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Daisy is survived by her children, Judy (Tim) Newman of St. Joseph, Sharon Curtis of Wyoming, MI, Donald Curtis of Baroda, and Mary (Ron) Block of Stevensville; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Daisy was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anna; husband, Leslie; and siblings, Martin Wagner, Edward Wagner, Ida Ketelhut, and Bessie Oles.
