Robert's Obituary

Robert F. Fiedler, 80, of Stevensville, passed away, Thursday, November 8, 2018 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 19, 2018 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Tom Bird officiating, followed by Military Rites conducted by the Stevensville American Legion Post #568. Private burial will take place at Lincoln Township Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations in Robert’s name may be made to the Stevensville American Legion Post # 568.  Those wishing to sign Robert’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Robert was born September 28, 1938 in Stevensville to Robert J. & Evelyn (Hemming) Fiedler.  He graduated from Stevensville High School, Class of 1956.  Robert served his country in the United States Army  He worked for many years as a self-employed automobile mechanic and also as a boilermaker at the DC Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman.  Robert was a member of the Stevensville American Legion Post #568 and the local Masonic Lodge & Shriners.  His work was his passion as he always enjoyed working on and fixing things. Robert is survived by two daughters-Nena Fiedler of St. Petersburg, FL, Valerie (Lawrence) Haggerty of Hinesville, GA; two grandchildren-Vance Fiedler & Belinda (Douglas) Mullis; and seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jerry Fiedler.
