James Donald Buck

James Donald Buck, 91, of St. Joseph, MI passed away, Friday, November 9, 2018 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in Bridgman, MI.  He will join his father, Casper Buck; mother, Ester Buck and brother, Jack Delvin Buck.  He is survived by his sister-in-law, Orella Buck; nieces and nephews, Cheri Buck, Jeff (Nan) Rose – their children Molly and Travis, James (Patricia) Buck – their children Liana, Danielle, and Anthony, Keith (Lucy) Buck – their children Olivia, Lindsey and Grace, and Larry (Barbara) Schaub – their daughter, Katelyn and  many great-great nieces and nephews.  James lived a very full life. After graduating high school, he joined the Navy and served in WW II. Upon his return home he gained employment at Whirlpool Corp, where he worked until retirement in 1987.  James loved to volunteer for community projects such as the Venetian Festival on Silver Beach (until 2011).  He enjoyed walking everywhere – even to the insurance company to pay his car insurance.  As long as James was able, he helped in the neighborhood, shoveling snow, mowing lawns, watching houses and detailing cars – he was especially known for his car detailing.  James was loved by all and will truly be missed.
