Candice Aleen Richter

Candice A. “Candy” Richter, 73, of Stevensville, MI passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Spectrum Lakeland Hospital- St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Twelve Corners Community Church, 3902 Hicks Ave. Benton Harbor with Reverend Raymond Clark officiating. Candy was born on September 3, 1945 in Paxton, IL to Earnest Roy & Mary Janet (Morris) Hensley. She was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School. On September 29, 1963 she married Harry Richter in Benton Harbor. Candy worked as a para professional at Lakeshore Middle School for over 20 years before retiring. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips to Mackinaw Island and gambling. Candy collected Coca Cola items and loved spending time with her family, most of all her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters; Joyce (Andrew) Seeley of Phoenix, AZ, Mary (Justin) Mantei of Sawyer and Tammy (Bruce) Stevens of Benton Harbor; grandchildren; Tiffany, Jeremy, Anthony, Marissa and Alesha; six great-grandchildren; sister Becky (Reggie) Rasmus of Loda, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 55 years Harry on July 2, 2018, and siblings James Hensley, Nancy Pullins and Carol Nieman.
