Thomas Edwards

Thomas “Big Tom” Edwards Sr., 83, of Sodus, MI passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Pine Ridge in Stevensville.  A Private Service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Caring Circle or Kingdom Hall-Jehovah’s Witness in Benton Harbor. Those wishing to share a memory of Tom online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com  Tom was born October 28, 1935 in Sodus, MI to Charles & Ruth (Hauch) Edwards. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1954. On January 21, 1956 he married Martha Alti in Eau Claire, MI. Tom was the owner of Tom’s Garage Door Sales and Service. He also worked on the family farm and was the first farmer to raise soy beans in Berrien County. Tom enjoyed the outdoors and would always do anything to help anyone and had a good sense of humor.  Tom is survived by his wife Martha Jane Edwards; son Thomas (Gina) Edwards; daughters Merry “Boots” (Steve Case) Edwards and Dona Singh; grandchildren Thomas “Rippy” Aaron Edwards, Allison (Brian) Kniebes, Kaylee Edwards, Sam Hughes, Maurice Edwards and Bianca (Matt) Robertson and 12 great grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jennifer Edwards and brothers Charles Abraham Edwards Jr. and Charles Howard Edwards.
