Maryfrances Bernardo

Maryfrances Bernardo, 75, of St. Joseph, passed away, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at her home. Private family services were held at Starks & Menchinger Chapel with Rev. Maryfrances was born November 30, 1942 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Edward & Mary Catherine (Young) Schaeffer.  She graduated from William L. Dickinson High School in Jersey City, Class of 1961.  On November 9, 1963, she married Lawrence Bernardo in Jersey City.  Maryfrances dedicated her life to her family and raising her children.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting crossword puzzles, flower gardening, and caring for her canine companions.  Maryfrances cherished the time spent with her grand & great-grandchildren. Maryfrances is survived by her husband Lawrence; her children-Edward (Laura) Bernardo of Marion, OH, Kenneth (Lori) Bernardo of Marysville, OH, Jennifer (Michael) Peck of Marysville, OH; ten grandchildren-Brandon, Sean & Christopher Bernardo, Zachary, Derrick & Jacob Bernardo, Benjamin, Joseph, Anne & Jeremiah Peck; seven great-grandchildren; brother & sisters-in-law-Francis (Joan) Bernardo of Dumont, NJ, Elizabeth “Betty” Remmig of Budd Lake, NJ; several nieces & nephews; and her canine companions Sammie & Dee Dee.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
