Randy P. Koehler, 62, of St. Joseph, passed away, Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Lisa Rich officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Randy’s name may be made to Crisis Response International. Randy was born August 23, 1955 in St. Joseph to Paul & Jan (Holmes) Koehler. He graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1973 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Business Administration from the University of Denver. Randy was the president of Koehler Financial in Stevensville, which he founded 30 plus years ago. On June 4, 2016 he married the former Rene Berger in St. Joseph. Randy was a member of First Church of God Stevensville Campus and Resurrection Church of Fox Valley, Illinois. Randy loved the Lord and believed His promises of a resurrected body and eternal life with his Creator. The heart of Randy was people…caring for people. It was reflected in the way he cared for his family and clients. He was passionate about tending to the deep roots of friendships. He was wise council, steadfast support and unwavering commitment. If you knew Randy to be a friend, your life was richly blessed.
Randy played baseball in the North Lincoln Little League & Babe Ruth League. He was an avid Blackhawks fan, and a long-time follower of Indy Car and Formula One racing. He enjoyed travel and never tired of meeting a stranger. Most of all he enjoyed the act of gathering at a table, where food and drink morph into fellowship and memories.
Randy is survived by his wife Rene; his children-Arie Koehler of New Buffalo, Lauren Koehler of Kalamazoo, Justin Koehler of Kalamazoo, MI, Daniel Rischl of Nashville, TN, Matthew Rischl of Wheaton, IL, Jayson Rischl of Oswego, IL; his father Paul Koehler of St. Joseph & Ellenton, FL; his sister Jill (Charles) Lyman of Orlando, FL; and his long-time business partner Erica Momany. He was preceded in death by his mother Jan Koehler and an infant sister Renee Sue Koehler.
