She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1973 and continued her education at Western Michigan University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. She was always an incredibly artistic and creative person. For over 20 years, Sheila worked as the lead designer at Jamison Galleries. She then followed her passion and became one of the co-founders of Water Front Framing where she helped to design and sell artwork. On May 4, 2001, Sheila married her partner of 30 years, David Day. She was a strong woman of faith and a proud member of the First Congregational Church of Christ, where she served on many of their boards. Her positive attitude in life was contagious; all throughout her illness she continued to remain cheerful and creative whether it being dyeing her hair to support causes important to her or designing beautiful works of art. Sheila was a very special woman and will be missed dearly by all.  Sheila is survived by her husband, David; son, Cassidy Knight of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Sue (Dave) Brewer of Gainesville, FL and Shelley (Tim) Gardner of Arlington, TX; stepdaughters, Christen (Steve) Hopkins of St. Joseph and Kelly (Mark) Gardner of Cedar Springs, MI; nephews, Scott (Lauren) Hartman and Samuel Gardner; niece, Sarah (Chris) Matthews; and sister-in-law, Susan (Dennis) Martell.  Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard & Priscilla and brother, James Hartman.
