Martha Litke

Martha “Mart” Litke, 98, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Pine Ridge Center-Stevensville.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph, MI with Pastor Glenn Rosenbaum officiating.  Friends may visit the family on Saturday, March 24, from 12PM until 1PM prior to the service.  Burial will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens, in Coloma following the service.  Memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.  Those wishing to sign Martha’s memory book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com   Martha was born February 2, 1920, in Manitoba, Canada to Emmanuel and Justina (Frank) Eisbrenner. In October of 1939, she married Arthur W. Litke and from this union came four children. Martha retired from K-mart in Benton Harbor. She was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was in the Alter Guild and Ladies Aid. Martha also volunteered at the Lighthouse Annex. She enjoyed crafting and going to craft shows, going to garage sales, playing bingo and cards with her friends. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.   Martha is survived by her children, Gloria (David) Adickes, Ronald (Pauline) Litke, Sherry Greenway and Linda (Kerry) Barchett; sisters, Carolyn Sempert and Emily Griffin; thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Justina and Emmanuel; siblings, Bill Eisbrenner, Emil Eisbrenner, Elsie Wildeman, Emma Belter, Dick Eisbrenner, Adeline Eisbrenner and Benny Esibrenner and two grandchildren.
