Jeannine's Obituary

Jeannine Jo Bischoff, 76, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, with Chaplin Scott Brown officiating.  A private burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, in St. Joseph.  Friends may visit the family on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 5 PM until 7 PM at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to CIS, Christian Involvement in Service.  Those wishing to sign Jeannine’s memory book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Jeannine was born December 16, 1941, in Benton Harbor to Kenneth and Noreen (Kelley) Jensen.   She graduated from St. Joseph High School and soon after married Harry Bischoff at the Napier Parkview Baptist Church in June of 1959. As a couple, they raised four children and owned and operated Southtown Graphics for over 30 years.  She also worked at Family Vision as an optical technician for more than 20 years.  Jeannine loved singing and was a proud member of Napier Parkview Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, served on the music committee, and was a leader in the children’s clubs programs for many years.  She also enjoyed volunteering at nursing homes and using her skills to fit seniors with glasses. Jeannine is survived by her husband, Harry; children, Christine (Bruce) Gorenflo of St. Joseph, Bradley (Meredith McAlmon) Bischoff of Austin, Texas, Timothy Bischoff of Boyne Falls, MI, and  Elizabeth (Scott) Brown of Stevensville; grandchildren, Eric (Louise), Joel & Evan (Hannah) Gorenflo, and Timothy, Christian & Drew Brown; great-granddaughter, Roxy Gorenflo; two nephews and two nieces; and sister-in-law, Patricia Jensen of Jacksonville, FL. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Hanson Hospice Center. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Jensen.
