Lorraine Marie (Migala) Kitchell, 92, of St. Joseph, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 11AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 Church St., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 4PM until 7PM on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, with Rosary recited at 6:30pm, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Lorraine was born on August 21, 1925, to Stephen & Josephine (Kieler) Migala in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Watervliet High School. On July 3, 1948, she married Frank Kitchell at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She worked for Migala Rug & Tile, Meijer Sampling and True Value National Stamps before staying home to raise her family. Lorraine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she helped with their Food & Crisis Network and Prayer Network, served in the Adoration chapel and sang in the choir. She was also involved with the Cursillo Movement Group. Lorraine was a women of many talents, she enjoyed crocheting, needle work, cooking and gardening.  She also liked to play cards and scrabble. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Lorraine is survived by her children, David (Phyllis) Kitchell of Benton Harbor and Janice Gifford of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Colin (Julie) Gifford, Jennifer (Nelson) Hiestand and Byron (Kristen) Gifford; great-grandchildren, Justin Gifford, Kendrell Dorrington, Michael (Calli) Gifford, Philip Gifford, Colin Gifford, Ethan Gifford and Evan Gifford; great-great grandchild Karsen Dorrington and great-great baby girl Gifford on the way. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank; great-grandson Jeremy Gifford; and brother Theodore Migala. Lorraine and her family would like to thank everyone who helped in her final years especially, PACE and her caregiver from Aliance, Hope M. She loved Hope like a daughter.
