William's Obituary

William “Bill” D. Lange, 85, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at Hanson Hospice in Stevensville. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St. St. Joseph with Pastor Michael Roth officiating. Friends may visit from noon until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to National Dementia Association. William was born May 11 1932 in St. Joseph, MI to Edward & Anita (Knuth) Lange. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in 1950 and went on to attend Western Michigan University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He then went on to proudly service his Country in the United States Army from Nov. 6, 1952 until he was honorably discharged in Nov. 5, 1954. On August 18, 1956 he married Janice Froberg at the St. Joseph First United Methodist Church. William worked as a CPA for 52 years before retiring. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, the YMCA and the St. Joseph Lions Club for 50 years. He enjoyed helping the Cancer Society and participating in the Relay for Life. He liked sports, especially golf and handball. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and singing to his wife. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Janice; children, Mark Lange of Grandville, MI, Tamra Willner of Des Plaines, James Lange of Grand Rapids, Holly Lange of St. Louis, MO, Heather (Brian) DeJoy of Pittsford, NY and Tiffany (Jack) Stanley of Western Springs, IL; grandchildren, Jacob, Sage (Brittany), Trevor, Amanda, Matthew, Scott, Morgan, Caroline, Emma, Ryan, Parker and Avery; great-granddaughter Kierstin and great-great- granddaughter Sophia; brother David Lange and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. William was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert Lange & Gerald Lange.
