Paul's Obituary

Paul E. Garlanger, 77, of Stevensville passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a?m on Tu?esday, February 20?, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph, with V. Rev. Robert Creagan officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00? pm with a Rosary being recited at 7:00pm, Mon?day, February 19, 2018? at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Paul was born November 5, 1940 to Paul and Julia (Houart) Garlanger in Benton Harbor.  He graduated from St. John’s Catholic High School and attended Benton Harbor Community College before joining the United States Navy.  Following his service to our country he returned to the area working the majority of his career at Heath Zenith followed by Printek and retiring from Whirlpool Corporation. He faithfully served at the St. Joseph Catholic church through the Knight’s of Columbus, Funeral Ministry and ushering as well as volunteering at the Soup Kitchen.  He loved spending time with his family, rooting for Notre Dame and the Minnesota Vikings.  He was a kind-hearted soul that could put a smile on everyone’s face with his great sense of humor and will be missed deeply by all who knew him. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Anna (Graziano), children Suzanne (Hoffmann) Buckner (fiancé Dan Moomey), Mike (Mari) Hoffmann and Mark (Lisa) Garlanger; mother-in-law Corinne Graziano, sister-in-law Mamie Graziano, grandchildren Rachel Buckner (Jeff Ichesco), Michelle Buckner (Manveer Hira), Ashlyn Garlanger and Alex Garlanger.  He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Paukowits, numerous cousins and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Manuel Graziano and brother-in-law Frank Paukowits.
