Harriet's Obituary

Harriet S. Gartley, 85, of Stevensville, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at her home. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Harriet was born on August 9, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Roy & Lucy (Cunningham) Rosser. She was a graduate of Fenger High School in Chicago. She went on to attend St. Olaf College in MN. On August 7, 1954 she wed William Gartley in Beloit, WI. Harriet kept a busy schedule caring for her home and her children. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, sewing, swimming in her pool and playing bridge. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Harriet is survived by her loving husband of 63 years William; daughter Pam (Dennis) Reilly of St. Joseph; son David (Sharon) Gartley of Marion, OH; grandchildren, Daniel (Lacey) Gartley, Richard (Rhianna) Gartley, Jason Reilly and fiancé Amy Quinn, Stephanie (Matthew) Carlson; great-grandchildren Hazel Gartley and Ava Carlson; brothers Roy (Jeanette) Rosser Jr., Roger (Avis) Rosser; sister Jane Miles; brother-in-law Luther Larson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Vivian Larson and Ruth (John) Helm and brother-in-law Don Miles.
