Roberta Kay Janca

Roberta “Bobby” Janca, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, Mich. with friends and family by her side. A celebration of Bobby’s generous life will take place in the springtime at Baroda Bible Church, where she was a member. Bobby was born at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor on May 13th, 1950, to Robert and Virginia (Katzbach) Janca. She attended Lakeshore High School, graduating in 1968. Then she studied and worked at Lake Michigan College in the department.of communications which included the student newspaper, the annual yearbook, and WLMC, the student’s radio station. Bobby began working at Memorial Hospital as a night administrator and later became a patient financial counselor for Lakeland Health. Bobby assisted patients for over 40 years, retiring in October of 2017. Bobby was an incredibly generous and caring person, with a heart as big as a house. She regularly contributed to countless non-profits; especially animal rescue organizations. Bobby is survived by her parents, Robert and Virginia; her sister, Linda (David Braatz) Janca of Fernandina Beach, Florida; niece, Dana Ferguson; her God-son David Sunblad; many cousins and countless friends.
