Edward “Ed”(Dewey) L. Rousselle, Jr. 90 of Coloma, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Larry Easton officiating. Burial to follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Ed was born on September 8, 1927 in Buchanan, MI to Leamen Edward and Edith U. (Baske) Rousselle. On February 14, 1948 he wed the love of his life, Carolyn Burgoyne, in Benton Harbor. They spent 70 wonderful years together before Carolyn’s passing on December 5, 2017. Ed worked full time at Whirlpool Corporation for 30+ years as a financial analyst. He retired at age 55 to devote all his time to running their retirement dream of Dune Lake Campground which they opened in 1970. Together they enjoyed traveling and have been to all of the United States & Europe on cruise ships, buses and campers. The winter months were spent in Zapata, Texas for 22+ years. In Ed’s free time he loved woodworking, painting, working in his shop and camping.
Ed is survived by his daughter Cindy(Michael) Hallman of Coloma, grandchildren Angela Hallman of Stevensville, Courtney Rousselle of St. Joseph, great-grandchildren, Tyler Zachary, Adrianna Hopson, Ryan Zachary and Gabe King, sister Jean Baker of Stevensville, and numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Carolyn, son, Edward Rousselle in 2005, and granddaughter Kristie Sanchez on November 26, 2017.
