Leroy Schaub, 73, of Stevensville, MI passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
Mass will be Celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with V. Rev. Robert Creagan officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 with prayers recited at 6:00 P.M., at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Leroy was born October 20, 1944 in Benton Harbor, MI to Marvin & Lida (Scherer) Schaub. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1963. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On October 11, 1969 he married Theresa Wiacek in Bangor, MI. Leroy worked for GAST Manufacturing for over 30 years and also worked at Lakeshore Lanes. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and Bridgman American Legion. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors whether it be camping, hunting or fishing or helping his neighbors with snow removal. He was also an avid Notre Dame, Michigan, and Cubs fan.
Leroy is survived by his wife Theresa Schaub; children Ann (Michael) Schlender, Matthew Schaub, Catherine (Sean) Semancik and Joan (Michael) Skipper; nine grandchildren Brian, Alyssa, Sadie, Daisy, Aidan, Beckham, Cameron, Adam, and Jacob; and other family members and friends. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents and sister Delores Drach.
