Jill Werner

Jill (Bonnie Jill) Werner, 72, of St. Joseph formerly of Dowagiac, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. On January 14, 1978 she married the love of her life, Kurt Werner. She worked at Whirlpool Corporation in the home economics lab and later as an engineering designer. She retired after over 30 years of service. After retirement, Jill did some contract work for several more years. She enjoyed knitting and volunteering at the Benton Harbor Public Library. Most of all, Jill loved spending time with her family and friends, always making sure there was plenty of food for everyone at their cookouts. Jill is survived by her husband of almost forty years, Kurt; daughter, Katie (Brandon) Boyer; mother, Shirley Walsh; sister, Marilyn Joanis and beloved dog, Snickers. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerrold MacDonald.
