Franz Froeschke

Franz Froeschke, 91, of St. Joseph, went to meet his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 15, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Robert Confer, First Church of God Associate Pastor of Older Adults and Support Groups, officiating. Private burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to the First Church of God Parish Nurse Program.  Those wishing to sign Franz’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.  Franz was born January 18, 1926, in Aulowönen, Germany, to August & Olga (Hoffman) Froeschke. On April 13, 1952, he married the former Irmgard Friedrich  in Hamburg, Germany.  The family immigrated to the United States in January 1954, settling in St. Joseph.  Franz was employed as a tool & die maker for many years before getting involved in real estate and investments from which he retired.  Franz was a long-time member of Washington Ave. Church of God before joining First Church of God in St. Joseph where he was active in the Prime Timers and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.  He cherished the time spent with his family and his many friends.  Franz is survived by his wife Irmgard; three sons-Harry (Robin) Froeschke of Fort Worth, TX, Norbert (Tammy) Froeschke of Clarkston, MI, Ron (Laura) Froeschke of Carpentersville, IL; his son-in-law Jack Luderer of Portage, MI; five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Monica Luderer on January 11, 2016, and his sister Helene Fricke in Germany.
