Joyce Mae Myers, 82, of Stevensville, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at a Lakeland Medical Center- St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 3 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor David Hills officiating. A private burial will take place at North Shore Memory Garden at a later time. Friends may visit with the family from 1 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Joyce was born on June 21, 1935, to Edward Ira & Joyce Emma Kerr in Riverside. She spent most of her childhood at Paw Paw Lake, enjoying the nature and water. Joyce graduated from Coloma High School in 1953. On October 26, 1957, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” James Myers at Coloma United Methodist Church. Joyce worked at Clark Equipment Company, Whirlpool Corp, and Sun Appliance assisting with clerical work before she retired as a homemaker. She always had a passion for interior design and after she completed her interior design degree Joyce designed the house her family currently lives in. She also enjoyed hunting & camping with her family, traveling to Florida and watching colorful sunsets along Lake Michigan with Bob. Since 1980, Joyce and Bob have been founding members of the Southwestern Michigan Car Collectors Club. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was very active until she suffered a stroke that sadly took her life. She was so loved by many and will be very dearly missed. May she Rest In Eternal Peace.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Bob; daughter, Deborah (Eric) Eversole; son, Robert (Kathy) Myers; grandchildren, Aimee & Adam Eversole and Matthew & Michael Myers; great-grandchildren, Sofia, Rory and Lane; sister, Doris (John) Florian, brother-in-law, Don (Phyllis) Myers and uncle James (Evelyn) Hammond. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Joyce.
