Russell's Obituary

Russell “Russ” J. Stewart, 68, of Benton Harbor, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 12 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Jon Bendewald officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 2 PM until 5 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of Pamela Stewart. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. On January 27, 1949, Russ was born in Green Bay, WI, to Harry & Helen (Burnette) Stewart. Russ graduated from Watervliet High School in 1967. In the winter of 1970, in downtown Coloma, the only two people foolish enough to be out, Russ met the love of his life, Pamela Bronson. They married on August 6, 1971, and spent 46 years of happiness together. Out of their love they had 4 children; Keith, Kevin, Korey and Kelley. For many years Russ was a truck driver but recently he was in business with his wife. His family meant the world to him. He loved vacationing at his cottage on Gunn Lake. He most enjoyed the 4th of July, when the whole family came and celebrated. And of course, being born in Green Bay, he was a die-hard Packer fan. Russ is survived by his wife, Pamela; children, Kevin (Dora) Stewart of Benton Harbor, Korey (Jessica) Stewart of Port Huron and Kelley (Greg) Gothberg of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Kevin, Jordan, Jessica, Maddie, Alex, Erick, Mason, Russell and grand baby number 9 on the way; and siblings, Mary and George. Russ was preceded in death by his parents, Harry & Helen Stewart; son, Keith; and in-laws, Floyd & Gladys Bronson.
