Flossie Ellen Davis, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at the Willows. She was given the gift of life on October 28, 1922.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph, MI with Pastor William Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Watervliet, MI. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 PM on Friday, October 27, 2017, also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter or Autism Speaks, Midwest Region. She was very well known for her strong will, stubbornness, determination, perseverance and common sense. In the past decade, however her common sense has lacked and her stubbornness has grown. Flossie touched the lives of all who knew her and was a very unique person.
Flossie married Allen Davis in 1938 and was happily married for 48 years and had six children. After the passing of her first husband, later in life in 1994 she married Virgal Thomas and they had five good years before his passing.
Flossie is survived by her children, Mary Halcomb of Hartford, MI, Millard (Connie) Davis of Florida, Ralph (Kay) Davis of Dowagiac, MI, Jackie (Don) Newton of Eau Claire, MI, Ellen (Gary Noles) Daughtry of Benton Harbor, MI; daughter in law, Peggy Davis of Benton Harbor, MI; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, who she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Allen Davis; second husband, Virgal Thomas; son, Barney Davis; son in law, Albert Halcomb and parents, Alfred and Annie Cleo Thomas.
