Stanley O. Bluschke, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.
Stanley was born on Nov. 19, 1927 in St. Joseph to the late Otto and Tena (Ruff) Bluschke. He married Eleanor Grieser on Sept. 23, 1950 in Benton Harbor, MI. Stanley was a retired tool maker with Whirlpool; he started with Whirlpool in 1948 and retired in 1987 after more than 39 years of service. He was a member of Napier Parkview Baptist church; he was an avid sports fan – loved the Chicago Cubs and would spend times in Kalamazoo watching the K-Wings play hockey; he enjoyed fishing and yardwork; and observing wildlife – birds and squirrels. Stanley especially enjoyed family visits and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years-Eleanor; two children – James (Holly) Bluschke of St. Joseph and Gloria Veres of Bridgman. Preceding Stanley in death are his parents-Otto and Tena Bluschke; a son-Gary Bluschke (12-9-2016); and his sister Betty Koepke (1988).
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Sat., Oct. 14, 11:00A.M., at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, with Dr. J.O. Hosler officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation is on Friday, Oct. 13 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
