Ezra M. Poisel

Ezra Poisel, 40, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Friday, September 1, 2017 at his home.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday, September 8 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the from 10:30-11:30 A.M. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Fish Cemetery in Covert, Michigan.  Memorial donations in Ezra’s name may be made to the YMCA in St. Joseph.  Those wishing to sign Ezra’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchigner.com.    Ezra was born August 12, 1977 in Berrien Center to Thomas & Brenda Jean (Hannan) Poisel. He attended River Valley High School, Class of 1996.  Ezra worked for several years at the YMCA in St. Joseph before gaining employment with Prime Metals in Benton Harbor where he worked for 10 years.  On April 15, 2010 he married Cheryl Coburn in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Ezra was a people person who enjoyed helping others & had a great sense of humor.  He enjoyed welding, rachetball, fishing, rock & roll music & watching movies.    Ezra is survived by his wife Cheryl; his mother Brenda Jean Potter of Benton Heights; his grandmother Marie Poisel of Three oaks, MI; siblings-Christy Sue (Willis Georgia) Poisel-Georgia of Benton Heights, Timothy Marcus Poisel of Benton Harbor, Timothy Owen Potter of Niles, MI; a nephew Thomas Georgia; and his brother-in-law Jerry Coburn of Niles.  He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Merle Poisel on November 14, 2008.
