Ida Burge, 88, of St. Joseph, passed away, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at her home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 23 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. James Whitman officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family beginning at Noon on Wednesday at the funeral home. Ida was born March 3, 1929 in Summit, Arkansas to William & Nora (Landers) Ingram. She graduated from New Ark High School in New Ark, Arkansas, Class of 1946. On September 14, 1946 she married Bill Burge in New Ark. After moving to St. Joseph, Ida was employed for many years at Zenith in St. Joseph. She also provided in-home health care and provided patient assistance at Caretel Inns in St. Joseph. Ida was a very giving & people oriented person. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting. She made blankets & afghans for numerous family members & friends for all occasions.
Ida is survived by her daughter Connie Deming of St. Joseph; her son Mike (Denise) Burge of Nashville, TN; four grandchildren-William, John & Chris Deming, Molly Burge; three great-grandchildren-Kaylie, Christian & Sofia Deming; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill on October 17, 1970, and by siblings-Zelda Moxley, Inez Langston, Margaret Haney, Marie Tapp, James, Russell, Ben & Billy Ingram.
