Guenter Schuett, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away, Saturday, August 19, 2017 at The Willows in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 22 at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, 245 W. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor, with Dr. J.O. Hosler officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family, Monday, August 21 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Guenter was born August 12, 1928 in Nessendorf, Germany. On February 12, 1949 he married the former Melosine Hanusch in Luetjenburg, Germany. The family moved to the United States in 1952, settling in St. Joseph. Guenter was employed as a licensed plumber for Ace Plumbing & Heating, retiring after 36 years. He was a member of Napier Parkview Baptist Church and in his free time enjoyed tending to his vegetable & flower gardens and woodworking. Guenter was a devoted husband, father & grandfather who cherished the time spent with his family.
Guenter is survived by two sons-Heinz (Rosemary) Schuett of Pinckney, MI, Gerhard (Jan) Schuett of Hudsonville, MI; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and a sister Edith Zimmermann of Hamburg, Germany. He was preceded in death by his wife Melosine on December 26, 2013.
