Ruth C. Stanton

Ruth C. Stanton, 96, of St. Joseph, passed away July 17, 2017, at Royalton Manor. A Visitation will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. prayers recited at 6:30 P.M. Ruth was born November 12, 1920 to Edward & Mary (Enders) Callender in St. Joseph, MI. She was employed at Tosi’s as Bar Manager for 29 years. She was a member of the American Legion post 568 in Stevensville. Ruth was an avid reader and liked to read anything especially mysteries. She loved to travel around the country visiting many different states and spent time living in Europe. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Starr (Larry) of Texas, Jacquelyn (Roy) Ballard of Watervliet; step-sons, Marc (Kathy) Huff of California, Dean (Lidia) Huff of California, and Scott Huff of California; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth (David) Karsten of St. Joseph; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jill Huff; siblings, Milton Callender, LaVern Briney, Leroy Callender, Mary Ulery, Harry Callender, Donald Callender, John Callender and Charles Callender.
