Hilde E. Lange

Hilde E. Lange, 73, of St. Joseph, passed away, Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Stately Living in St. Joseph.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 12 at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Noah Headrick officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph.  Memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.  Those wishing to sign Hilde’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.   Hilde was born November 15, 1943 in Janow, Germany to Engelhard & Lydia (Schendel) Frost. Her family moved from Germany to Illinois in May 1952 and soon after to St. Joseph, where she graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1962.  On October 24, 1964, she married Bruno Lange in St. Joseph.  Hilde dedicated her life to her husband and two daughters, never working outside the home.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was a member of the OWLS and served on the funeral dinner committee for many years. Hilde was an avid reader, especially enjoying mysteries, and following the Michigan Wolverine sporting events.  She was in attendance of her grandchildren’s sporting & school events whenever possible.  Hilde is survived by her daughters-Lisa (David) Van Heulen of Allegan, MI, Krista (David) Wolf of Baroda; three grandchildren-Jeremy, Lauren & Sean Wolf; two brothers-Erich (Jean) Frost of Nampa, ID & Helmut Frost of New York City; sisters-in-law & brother-in-law-Martha Lange of St. Joseph, Harry & Martha Schulz of Higgins Lake, MI, Wally Brown of Troy, MI; and numerous nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Bruno on April 1, 2005
