Susan C. Fanaly

Susan C. Fanaly, 76, of Stevensville, passed away, Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Stately Living AFC in St. Joseph. Private family graveside services will be held with Fr. Daniel Doctor officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph.  Memorial donations may be made to Caring Circle Hospice or the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan.  Those wishing to sign Susan’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.    Susan was born November 14, 1940 in Kalamazoo to William & Josephine (Storey) Bliss. On June 20, 1964, she married Frank Fanaly at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Kalamazoo. Susan was employed by Bridgman Schools as an English teacher at the high school, retiring in 2002 after forty years.  She enjoyed traveling, reading, tending to her flower gardens, needlecrafts and making rugs with her ladies group.  She cherished the time spent with her canine companion Max.   Susan is survived by her children-Bill (Theresa) Fanaly of Westland, MI, Beth (Phil) Barham of Monterey, TN; siblings-Bill (Susan) Bliss of Danville, IN, Sally (Ed) Pearson of Portage, MI, Charley Bliss of Kalamazoo; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, & her husband Frank.
