Ursel Stawski

Ursel Stawski, 87, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Pine Ridge in Stevensville.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, Make a Wish Foundation of Michigan or the Sarrett Nature Center. Those wishing to share a memory of Ursel online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com  Ursel was born June 5, 1929 in Berlin, Germany to Franz & Frieda (Rissmann) Schiemenz. She met the love of her life, Harry in Berlin, Germany while he was stationed there in the U.S. Army. On April 22, 1953, she married Harry Stawski in South Bend, IN. Ursel was a volunteer for Lakeland hospital for 20 years. She enjoyed line dancing and traveling. Ursel loved being outdoors gardening and bird watching. Most of all she loved her family.  Ursel is survived by her son, Ronald Stawski of Lodi CA; granddaughter, Heidi Stawski of Lodi CA; and great-grandchildren, Anica and Ismael of Lodi CA. Ursel was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband and sister Margarete Rissmann.
