Edith “June” Felgner, 93, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Pine Ridge Assisted Living in Stevensville.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph with Pastor Adam Bohland officiating. Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ or the Berrien County Parkinson’s Support Group. June was born June 7, 1923 in Benton Harbor, MI to John & Fern (Tidey) Whitright. Her mother Fern passed away when she was young, so June was raised by her father and stepmother EmmaZelmer. She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1941. June wed Lyle Felgner on February 23, 1946 in Benton Harbor. She worked as a bank teller at Inter City/ Shoreline Bank for 20 years before retiring. June was a member at Zion Evangelical Church in St. Joseph since 2000. She was an avid Cubs fan and a skilled seamstress and often enjoyed making doll clothes, wedding dresses and mending things for her family. June enjoyed playing games with her great-grandchildren. June was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Raymond) Deja of St. Joseph; son Craig Felgner of St. Joseph; grandchildren Chad (Lori) Deja, Kevin Deja, Scott (Shannon) Felgner, Ryan (Traci) Felgner, Cara Felgner and Amber Paukowits; great-grandchildren Wesley, Audrey, Nolan, Parker, Olivia and Langelee; brother Richard (Mary) Whitright of Eau Claire and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Emma, son Kenneth Felgner in 1990, husband in 2000 and brother J.D. Whitright.
