Debra Betts Bork

Debra Betts Bork of St. Joseph, Michigan and Oak Park, Illinois was born August 17, 1951 and died April 27, 2017.  Debra was a Speech Language Pathologist for over 33 years, the last 26 in Oak Park School District 97, until her retirement in 2006, when she moved to St. Joseph. Debra earned a Bachelor’s degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois and a Master’s degree from Eastern Illinois University. Over the years, Debra touched thousands of lives through her dedicated professionalism and her compassionate friendship. Debra was a strong believer in economic and social justice and equal rights for all. She was a proud member of the Oak Park Teachers Association (IEA-NEA). Debra shared love and marriage with her husband, William H. Bork, for over 43 years.  She was the loving mother of Aaron W. Bork, of Lyons, Illinois, special friend to daughter-in-law, Maria Luz (Lindsey) Bork, and beloved grandmother to Robert J. Bork. Services were private.
