Rose Racz

Rose Racz, 93, of Stevensville, MI passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Petrona’s Country Home Adult Living Facility in Baroda, MI.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Fr. Robert Creagan officiating. Friends may visit from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 10, 2017 at the funeral home. An inurnment will take place at a later date at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home or Petrona’s Country Home Adult Living Facility. She graduated from Washington High School in South Bend. On October 6, 1951 she married George Racz in South Bend, IN. Rose was very active in the St. Joseph Catholic Parrish and enjoyed playing bingo.  Rose is survived by her children Mary (Ken) Oran of Brighton, MI, Michele (Ken) Zandarski of Benton Harbor, Teresa (David) Case of Canton, OH, and Jacky (Steve) Hallenbeck of Cape Coral, FL; four grand children Jason (Kelly) Oran, Jeff (Allison) Oran, Tyler Case, and Scott (Jessica Allen) Zandarski; six great grandchildren; and a brother Stephen “Pete” Rokop.  Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Michael Racz, sisters Anna and Elizabeth, and brothers Ignatius, Frank, Louis, and Joey.
