Consuela (Connie) Ruth Blivin, 91, of St Joseph, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Hanson Hospice Center in St. Joseph.
Connie was born to Maxim and Marie Raboin, on December 27, 1925, in Niagara, Wisconsin, the youngest of 8 children. She graduated from Niagara High School in 1944. On June 28, 1947 she married Robert Blivin in Hastings, Michigan and moved to Three Rivers where they raised their 5 children. She later moved to St. Joseph where she has resided for the past 30 years. She was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church where she volunteered with the soup kitchen and quilting ministries.
Connie loved her sports – whether it was watching the Tigers, Pistons or Lions, or rooting on her grandchildren at one of their many sporting events. She enjoyed playing cards, (especially group solitaire) and bingo with friends and family and most of all just laughing and joking with everyone she met. For those of you who knew her love for short songs, it is comforting to know she has finally been shown “the way to go home”.
Connie is survived by 4 of her children: Larry (Marilyn Doherty) of North Liberty, Indiana; Lee (Michele) Blivin of Vineland, New Jersey; Linda (Bob) Roberts of St. Joseph and Lori (Tom) Seebeck of Buena Park, CA. Eight grandchildren: Amy Blivin, Robert Blivin, Kristi (Chris) Bloom, Stephenie (Peter) Perez, Ricky Roberts, Shelly (Kevin) Fitzpatrick, Alison (Andrew) Adkins and Tashiana Seebeck, and 13 great-grandchildren (with the 14th due in June). She was proceeded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 5 brothers, her husband Bob, and son Lynn.
