Elizabeth Pickard-Cook, 98, of Stevensville, MI passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Stevensville.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Lakeshore Baptist Church, 5411 Cleveland Rd., Stevensville with Pastor Duane Anderson officiating. A private burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn, IN. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 3, 2017 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran School. Elizabeth was born August 3, 1918 in Auburn, IN to Frederick & Ellen Viola (Knisley) Meiser. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1936. Than in 1936 she married Walter Pickard until his passing in 1987. Then in 1994 she married William Cook until his passing. Elizabeth was a homemaker who kept a busy schedule caring for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed word puzzles, cross stitch, knitting, reading and playing shuffleboard.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Judy Jackemeyer; son Steve (Ann) Pickard; five grandchildren Meredith Sgambelluri, Melanie (David) Lhotka, Michael (Susan) Jackemeyer, Audrey Bradley and Fred Pickard; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Walter Pickard and William Cook, three step-sisters and a half brother.
