Dolores M. (Kling) Bishop, 88, of Coloma, MI, left her earthly home to be with her Heavenly Father and beloved husband Howard, on Sunday, January 8, 2017. She passed away peacefully at the Whitcomb Senior Living Community.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 11, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Watervliet, with Father John Peter officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with a Prayer Service at at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Dolores was the daughter of the late Louis and Minnie Kling of Hartford, MI. She graduated from Hartford High School and worked at Ausco in Hartford. She married her high school sweetheart “Howie” on April 30, 1949, upon his return from military service in WWII. They shared a marriage of 56 years. Dolores was active as a 4-H leader to the Countrysiders 4-H Club. She was an avid seamstress and knitter. Dolores and Howard successfully farmed the land in Hagar Township where they raised their three daughters.
Dolores is survived by her three daughters, Patricia (Donald) Fryling, Pamela (Robert) Hirsch and Maureen Bishop; three grandsons, Christopher (Andrea) Fryling, Jonathan (Kellie) Fryling and Matthew (Reem) Fryling; four great-grandsons, Gabriel, Ryan, Maxton and Greyson; and two great-granddaughters: Kyndal and Vallerie. She is also survived by her sister Marion (Roy) Davis, brother Robert Kling and sister-in-law Phyllis Kling; and many nieces and nephews, their spouses and children.
Dolores is preceded in death by her loving husband Howard, parents and brother Louis.
Dolores loved her extended family, cousins, farm friends, neighborhood friends, and special friend Ollire Lane and her children. Dolores loved her church and helping others. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered as “Howie’s Partner!”
