Marilyn Jean Klann, 81, of St. Joseph, passed away, Sunday, January 08, 2017 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 11, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, concluding with prayer offered by Rev. Marilyn was born December 2, 1935 in Benton Harbor to Arthur & Ellen (Nelson) Stromberg. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1953. On June 15, 1957, she married Paul B. Klann in St. Joseph. Marilyn was employed for many years at Superior Dental Lab in Benton Harbor/St. Joseph before gaining employment at Lakeland Hospital as a Nutrition Hostess. She was a member of Saron Lutheran Church, Kappa Theta Chi Sorority and the Red Hat Society. In her free time, she enjoyed golfing.
Marilyn is survived by her three grandchildren-Jessica Ransom, Samantha (William) Ashley & Mitchell Klann; three great-grandchildren-Rory & Aubrey Ransom, Triston Schramm; sister Shirley Montey; sister-in-law Trudy Gillespie of St. Joseph; numerous nieces & nephews; and a special friend Lori Gerdes of Stevensville. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul on September 28, 2005, her son David Klann on April 25, 2014, daughter Beth Kalin on September 28, 2015, and sister Thelma Reifschneider on February 9, 2016.
