Douglas Hendrix

Douglas “Doug” Hendrix, 63, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at West Woods of Bridgman.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 23, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St., St. Joseph with pastor Michael Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to share a memory of Doug online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com  Doug was born September 18, 1953 in St. Joseph, MI to Robert & Florence (Haase) Hendrix. Doug graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1971. He then attended Western Michigan University where he received his Bachelor’s. On November 25, 1978 he married Darlene Woodford in St. Joseph. Doug worked for Jvis Manufacturing for many years. In his spare time Doug enjoyed golfing, bowling and was an avid Chicago White Sox and University of Michigan fan. But most of all his grandson was the apple of his eye.  Doug is survived by his wife Darlene Hendrix; daughter Tiffeny (Cory) Buist; grandson Ryan Buist; brother-in-law Richard “Woody” Woodford; and his beloved pets Zoey and Maddie. Doug was preceded in death by his parents.
