John G. Andrews

John G. Andrews, 78, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.   Memorial Services will be held Sunday, December 18, 2016 following the 10:30 A.M. Liturgy at the Annunciation & Agia Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church, 18000 Behner Rd., New Buffalo, Michigan, with Fr. Paul Martin officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or the Annunciation & St. Agia Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church. Private family services were held with burial following at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1956 and Western Michigan University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in 1960. John began his career as Superintendent of Hagar Schools, a position he held for several years. He retired from Kaywood Industries in Benton Harbor, a division of Joanna Western in Chicago, as plant manager after many years of service. John was a member of the Annunciation & St. Agia Paraskevi Greek Orothdox Church where he was formerly the counsel president and was a former member of the Benton Harbor Lions Club.  He enjoyed helping others in any way he could and cherished the time spent with his many friends & family.  John is survived by his fiancé, Mary Ellen Hedrick of St. Joseph; two sisters Margie Souliotis of Benton Harbor and Joantha (Evangelos) Argoudelis of Northbrook, IL; sister-in-law Betty Andrews of St. Joseph; nieces & nephews-George (Suzanne) Souliotis, Mary (Dennis) Chapman, Jim (Rochelle) Argoudelis, Stela Diulas, Renee Wolf, George (Athena) Andrews, Paulette (Michael) Deree, & Roxanne Couvelis; great nieces & nephews-Maria Souliotis, Andrew & Benjamin Chapman, Johny Roumanidakis, Anthony Wolf, Pauline & Jim Couvelis, Andy & Peter Andrews & Jill Fuller; Mary Ellen’s son-Thomas (Barbara) Hedrick & their children Zachary, Kathrine, Brian and godson TD Butzbaugh. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Andy Andrews on March 15, 1981.
