Shuntell “Laney”  Coleman, 38, of Elkhart, IN passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Memorial Hospital – South Bend, IN. A Celebration of Homegoing will be held privately. She graduated from Gompers High School in Richmond, CA in 1996. After moving back to the area, Laney decided to attend Lake Michigan College where she earned her Associates Degree. She was a homemaker and she loved spending time with her children. Laney will be missed by all of her family and friends. Laney is survived by her mother Cecilia Coleman of Elkhart; father Vernon Williams of Michigan; children Alauna Jowers, Reniqua Jowers, Shannon Jowers Jr. and Shuntavia Jowers all of Elkhart; grandson Joshua Jowers and a granddaughter due in October; siblings Vernita “Nita” Coleman and Charles Coleman also of Elkhart; step-sisters Rosalie Robertson, Vernentte Robertson and Nikeya Robertson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. Laney was preceded in death by her nieces Johniqua McGee and Johnnita McGee; grandparents Ora Lee Coleman and Louise & Freddie Ray; great-grandmother Mary Lee Porter, uncle James Anthony and cousins George Anthony Jr., Larry Harris, Tracy Roberts, Julia Johnson, Margaret Janelle, and Nancy Kelly.
