Timothy's Obituary
Timothy Joseph DeVoir, 57, of Benton Harbor, MI, a kind and gentle man, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend was called home to heaven on September 17, 2016 after battling brain cancer for over four years. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 10:00A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph, MI. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 5:00-8:00P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed at 4:45P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice At Home or any pro-life organization.
Tim was born on January 13, 1959 in Albion, MI, the fourth of seven children to bless Philip and Cecilia (Gartee) DeVoir. He graduated from Stevensville-Lakeshore High School in 1977 and from Lake Superior State College in 1981 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice/Conservation Law. Tim served his country as a U.S. Marine from 1981-1985. In 1990 he re-enlisted in the Marine Corps to defend his country during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Semper Fi!
Tim is survived by his mother Cecilia; and six siblings – Stan (Debbie) DeVoir, Roxanne DeVoir, Philip DeVoir, David DeVoir, Mary (Terry) Nicholas, Jason DeVoir; and 20 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Philip.
