Walter Bumbulis

Walter Bumbulis, 82, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at West Woods of Bridgman. Walter was born on June 17, 1934 in Lithuania to Michael and Meta (Milauskas) Bumbulis.  On May 14, 1955 he married his wife Lona Jahnke at St. Matthews Church in Benton Harbor.  Walter was the owner and operator of his own semi-truck which he drove across the country.  He was a former member of the St. Joe Kickers Sports Club and enjoyed soccer, fishing and woodworking.  He also enjoyed music and playing the harmonica. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Lona, his children:  Diane (Kevin) Schafer-Hinkley of St. Joseph, Donald (Veronica) Bumbulis of Harlingen, Texas and Susan (Mark) McCracken of Irvine, California.  He is also survived by six grandchildren:  Brandon (Cande) Villarreal, Jacob, Isaac, Kara, Nicholas, Alexis,  a great-grandchild Violet, and his sister Helene Johnson. Walter is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Karen Bumbulis in 2000, and siblings:  Arnold Bumbulis, Siegfried Bumbulis and Irmtraut Niedelman. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
