Bearthena Shaw

Bearthena “Tina” Shaw, 85, of Berrien Springs, MI, passed away August 23, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Highland Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 2075 Highland Ave. Benton Harbor, MI with Pastor Zebron Ncube officiating. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at North Shore Memory Gardens immediately following the service.  Memorials may be made to the Southwest Michigan Humane Society or  the Benton Harbor Senior Center. In 1974, she married Albert Shaw in Benton Harbor, MI.  Bearthena worked as a Nursing Assistant over 50 years including time into her retirement.  She loved dogs, playing bingo and was an avid enthusiast of the Benton Harbor Senior Center – going there as often as four days a week.  In her later years she confessed her love and rededicated her life to the Lord.  Her greatest joy in life, however, was her family.    Bearthena is survived by two daughters Marie Mitchell of Berrien Springs and Patricia (Ranson) Ivy of Benton Harbor; one son Charles Naylor of Flint, MI; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert and one daughter, Darlene Briggs.
