Eulis Cook, “Pops” 91, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor John DeVries officiating. A private burial will be held North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday September 2, 2016 at the funeral home. Eulis was born December 9, 1924 in Kennett, Missouri to Edgar and Elizabeth (Abraham) Cook. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army as a cook in India. On September 16, 1951 he married Myrtle Edinger in St. Joseph, MI. Eulis worked for Whirlpool as a foreman for over 40 years. At the age of 70 Eulis graduated from college where he received his masters in gardening. Eulis was a strong willed person who loved to keep healthy and fit. In his spare time he enjoyed being a master gardener.
Eulis is survived by his grandchildren Wanda (David) Cornell, Dan-nee’ Cook, Michael (Onnavee) Radspieler; daughter-in-law Robyn Cook; five great grandchildren Lacey Taylor, Jordan Cook, Solomon Cornell, Leah Cornell, and Samuel Cornell; brother Charles “Nelson” (Dolores) Cook; and aunt Nellie Pumphrey. Eulis was preceded in death by his parents, wife Myrtle, son Daniel Cook, and brother Gilbert Cook.
