Roger was born April 29, 1939 in Benton Harbor, to Clyde and Marie (Imboden) Poole. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1958. Shortly after graduating, Roger proudly enlisted in the United States Army. During his time in the military he took a basic training class for welding. On October 19, 1968 Roger married the love of his life, Ardath Ohst, at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. He worked at and retired from Mac Engineering as a Fabricator/Welder for 35 years. Roger was an avid sports fan; he loved the Detroit Tigers & Lions, and coaching his sons little league and rocket football teams. He had a love for fishing, hunting and being outdoors, but most of all he loved his friends and family. Roger will always be remembered for his storytelling and his great sense of humor. He enjoyed sharing his life’s wisdom and advice, usually sprinkling in a little humor. People who knew and loved him new the world was a little better place with him in it.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ardath Poole of St. Joseph; sons, Chad (Kim) Poole of Stevensville and Daniel (Heather) Poole of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Owen and Lainey Poole of Stevensville and Parker & Chase Poole of Eau Claire.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Norma Books, Joyce Clements and Robert Poole.
