Matthew James Stringer

Matthew James Stringer, 46, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Kalamazoo, MI. A Celebration of Life service will be held 12:00 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2016 at Starks and Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI with Pastor Archibald Woodstock officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. before the service.  Memorials may be made to the Veterans Association. Those wishing to share a memory of Matthew online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Matthew was born May 15, 1970 in the Philippines to James, Sr. & Alicia (Anzures) Stringer.  He was a proud Soldier completing one tour in Afghanistan and two tours in Korea.  After serving his country he began taking advanced college courses to further his career as an I.T. Specialist.  Matthew was a member of the Berrien County Amateur Ham Radio Operators and the National Rifle Association.  He especially enjoyed shooting and target practicing with his dad, fishing and video gaming. Matthew is survived by his parents; sons Michael Stringer of South Bend, IN and Zachary and Alexander Stringer both of Mount Vernon, WA; sisters Maria (Ernest) Khaw, of Hillsboro, OR, Theresa (Benjamin) Burdick of Florissant, CO and Jennifer Dasani of Italy; brothers James, Jr. (Princella) Stringer of Benton Harbor, MI, and Michael (Karen) Stringer of San Diego, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
