Marie M. Bergstrom

Marie M. Bergstrom, 80, of Stevensville passed away on July 19, 2016, at Lakeland Medical Center- St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11 AM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Kendall Holder officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Marie was born on June 22, 1936 in Three Oaks, MI to Ralph & Margaret (Hinchman) Mynard.  She was raised by her loving grandparents, Howard & Bertha Hinchman. On June 30, 1962, Marie married the love of her life, James Bergstrom, at Arden United Methodist Church in Berrien Springs. For many years, Marie worked and retired from Whirlpool Credit Union, now known as United Federal Credit Union, as a Microfilm Clerk. Marie’s favorite time was spent at Pine’s Point Campground in Hesperia, MI camping with her family and friends. Most Monday’s, Marie could be found at Martins Super Market enjoying coffee with her friends. She also enjoyed browsing garage sales, reading, sewing and needlework. Most of all, Marie loved her grandchildren and family. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed dearly by all. Marie is survived by her husband of 54 years, James; daughter, Cheryl (Dave) Ondrias of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Grace & Sam Ondrias; siblings, Shirley (Victor) Ruppert, Mary Lou Porter & James Maynard; close family members, Christy and Ed Kolozowski, Wanda and Oscar Bergstrom & Carol and Butch Noykos; and numerous nieces & nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents & grandparents.
