Joseph P. Zangaro, 61, of Stevensville passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Mendel Center at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 15, 2016. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 14, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph.  Memorial donations may be made to Fallen Trooper Memorial or Berrien County Sheriff’s Victim Service Unit. Joe was born January 24, 1955 in Battle Creek, MI to Joseph & Helen (Popavich) Zangaro.  He attended Lakeview High School and graduated in 1973.  In 1977, he married the love of his life, Karen Mangan.  Joe began his career in Law Enforcement and retired as First Lieutenant of the Bridgman State Police Post.  After a short retirement from the State Police, Joe became Head of Security at the Court House and served over all the bailiffs for 13 years.  Joe truly loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Karen; daughters, Katie (Phil) McNabnay & Emily (Jeff) Dock, both of Middleville, MI; grandchildren, Grace & Luke McNabnay and Micah, Andrew “AJ” & Levi Dock; his mother Helen; sister, Annette (Carl) Binford of Texas; and nephew, PJ Vironda. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph.
