Jane's Obituary
On July 4th Jane Wingard passed through the Wit and Wisdom portals of Heaven’s gate.
A family graveside service will be held Friday, July 8 at 2:30pm at Crystal Springs Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Jane was born in Montague MI, July 1922, to Amy and Joseph Tuell. She is survived by one sister, Mary Jo Anderson, and was preceded in death by her parents and brother John “Jack” Tuell. She is also survived by her two children Gary (Kay) Soper and Pam (Dick) Garetto, as well as 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. During the challenging times of the Great Depression, Jane attended 12 schools in 10 years, benefitting from the support of an education-minded family. She worked as a secretary at Whirlpool for about 25 years and followed that with active volunteering at Lakeland. Her intellect, humor and pithy observations kept us smiling. Her ability to do that through pain and disability in her later years kept us inspired. She is remembered with boundless love and greatly missed. She is always in our thoughts, and will be especially every 4th of July when we look up and see lights in the sky.
Memorials may be made to Sarett Nature Center or Lincoln Township Library. Arrangements entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel 556-9450. Those wishing to sign Jane’s guestbook may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com .
