Guy's Obituary

Guy Arthur, 94, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, July 8, 2016 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph with Rev. William Shepard officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit with the family from 5 PM until 7 PM Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Historical Foundation of South Haven. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Guy was born June 8, 1922 in Atchison, Kansas to Ralph and Yvonne (Pineau) Arthur. After high school, Guy earned his Associates Degree in Business from the former Benton Harbor College now known as Lake Michigan College. On June 25, 1955, Guy married the love his life, Kathryn “Kathy” McConnell, who preceded him in death on February 13, 2006. Guy was a Decorated WWII Veteran and proudly served our country in the United States Navy for four years and was also a 32nd degree Mason. In 1960 he started his own business, Tri County Audio, where he installed stereos for boats and cars. Guy had a love for photography, boating, fast cars & motorcycles. Guy loved racing his Indian motorcycle in hill climbing competitions. He also had a passion for nature and the outdoors, but most of all, loved spending time with his friends and family. Guy is survived by his children, Yvonne (Wilke-Arthur) Dean of Niles/Indianapolis and Michael (Kathleen) Arthur of Eau Claire; and grandchildren, Jamin, Skyler and Zhane Arthur & Andrew Dean. Guy was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 50 years, Kathy Arthur and brother Charles Arthur.
